What’s been happening:

My wife of 44 years Kathy (PSU,'66, Education) and I married right after I got my Navy commission and after she graduated from State. We spent our first 3 years together in Charleston, S.C., and in Spain, where we had the first son there. Then it was an MBA for me at Wharton and 8 years in the Philly area where we had 2 more sons and I worked in IT for Rohm and Haas and as a senior management consultant for Peat Marwick. In 1977, a division of SmithKline hired me and we moved to the Silicon Valley. Kathy took up her career as a pre-school and kindergarten teacher while I moved up in the IT world at HP and then became the IT director at Genentech during its very early years. I retired in 1999 after having spent the final 15 years of my career in market development first for Tandem Computers and then with Sun Microsystems. Kathy's retired, too, and we travel and do volunteer work a lot. She's been singing in a large, well-known women's chorus for 30+ years. Our sons are all happily married and we will be grandparents for the first time very soon.
